Who is Madame Risquée?
Compared with the USA and UK, it took a while before the new Burlesque wave 'hit' the Netherlands, but the mysterious Madame Risquée has been one of the initiators of burlesque in the Netherlands and is still very much involved with Burlesque since 2003. The Madame (co-) organises shows and parties with a 'warm retro style feel', scouts for talent, develops acts and burlesque concepts, helps to create a burlesque community in the Netherlands, produces shows for corporate events, arranges workshops and is webmistress of AmsterdamBurlesque.com and also makes this Burlesque related Newsletter.
